Historique :	La statuette a été offerte en 1862 par Honoré Reymond, après un voyage en Chine effectué en bateau sans encombre et à la suite d'un voeu, comme l'atteste l'inscription d'une lithographie accrochée à côté de la statue : HONORE REYMOND NAVIGATEUR EN VOYAGE EN CHINE A FAIT VOEU D'OFFRIR LA STATUE S'IL N'Y AVAIT PAS DE NAUFRAGE.
