Historique :	Antoine Chalvet appartient à une famille de peintres établie à Briançon dès le 16e siècle (cf. cadastre de 1539). Il est l'auteur de deux tableaux de la Collégiale de Briançon (la Manne et le Serpent d'Airain) dont il est question dans les documents comptables conservés aux Archives Municipales de Briançon, dans CC243 : frais payés au sieur Antoine Chalvet pour les peintures, 1714.
